Hull city centre enterprise zone could attract new investment
Hopeful: Hull City Council regeneration manager Mark Jones, says work on a bid to give Hull city centre enterprise zone status is under way.
Business rates could be reduced in Hull City Centre under plans to make the area an enterprise zone.
New companies could also benefit from start-up grants and relaxed planning rules if the proposal, put forward by Hull City Council, is approved.
It could also see income from business rates applied to new developments being retained and spent in Hull under devolution powers being championed by the Government.
The move is being seen as a way of encouraging more investment in the area.
